Worthless

I bought this thinking that I could do some online tutorials on my down time. As a test I copy and pasted some beginners C# and Java and I get compile errors. Id give it zero stars, but I like the idea of saving to Dropbox.

Thank You

I am a programmer with tendinitis, if it had not been for this App I wouldve had to give up coding (the iPads interface does not hurt my hands). I can not thank you enough!

Not worth it as a real IDE substitute

In java it doesnt support anything like kbReader, not worth it

Great but

It would e awesome if you could import files such as pictures into the app to reference and manipulate with the code

App Isnt That Good

This app doesnt allow the user to run any code at all. Only gives a compile error and states that the class is public and should be saved as a certain name, even when the code is saved as the proper name. Dont waste your time with this one.

Nice concept.

However, lacking in even the basic std library functions such as cin. No way to interact with the user.

Cin

Cin is super necessary bro. It doesnt have it, and it needs it. How am I gonna cheat in math without cin? Edit the code everytime I want a diff value? What am I, a caveman? But otherwise pretty flyyy.

Amazing.

This is an awesome app! Also, to reviewers below me: you CAN support input, you just have to supply user input ahead of time, by selecting the "Input (stdin)" tab. And Java classes have to be named either "Main" or not be marked public, unfortunately!

Very good

This app is very well done, lots of languages to choose from. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do some light coding on the go

Almost perfect!

This is a great app but one simple function that you need is the ability to type in an input during the running process. Almost there!

Fantastic

I personally had a great experience with the app (although requiring Internet connection was sometimes annoying but nevertheless I had it most of the time.) Very easy to write small snippets of code on the fly and test them. However, I sometimes feel that the ten shortcut keys arent enough, perhaps because I do C++ with lots of low level operations. It would be great to expand the existing short cut amount to say, 15 or 20.

OK for absolute beginners

For $3 its pretty good, definitely the best on the App Store, but C# and java (and assumingly all other object oriented languages) are quite useless without classes, and something like Intelitype would be nice as well(forgetting to capitalize the L in WriteLine is pretty annoying at times. Very good for beginners or maybe for just command line-esqe programming languages, but for anything even moderate it simply doesnt work.

Doesnt support Java 7. Deleting lines is hard. Oddly made application (read below).

Java 7 is the language I wanted to use most with this. Ideone supports it but this one doesnt. I have a program with a bunch of lines and it took me several minutes to delete each line. That was annoying. Lastly, the application should open to some sort of overview of your code instead of a list of languages to work with. Its subjective but the UI is really not good. This application seems to do what it advertises but nothing more and in an inelegant way. I will raise the number of stars if these issues are addressed. One for each issue solved. This app has a lot of potential but it seems like a beta release. Some things are just off

Needs User Input

Its great that you have the highlighting done and that we can compile simple code but I cant use this at all because I cant allow the user to input any data. Please try to get user input implemented into this app. If you do that, this could be the best programming related app out there for iDevices.

Good but...

I suggest inputting a CSS section for HTML etc. or input a way to link an HTML JAVASCRIPT AND CSS all together. Would make this app better .

Good for either simple or GUI programs, but...

... Unfortunately, Im having quite a bit of trouble trying to read arguments from the command line (the stdin tab doesnt do much help either). If there could be an option to compile (but not run) and an integrated (but sandboxed) bash shell within the app to run command line programs, it would be greatly appreciated.

Needs Keyboard

This is a very good app. I love how easy it is to use and the extra keyboard. Right now I only know c#. But I looked into the other programming languages on this app and the biggest problem is that once you run the program the user cannot type or interact with it. This app should be able to do this, since you have to pay. Also the code should have different colors(instead of just one color and black). If these two things are put into the next update I believe this could be a very powerful app.

Not impressed

Would not recommend to any coder, its more worth your time to code in notepad and transfer it to a pc than to use this app.

Errors?

I bought this thinking I could actually code, but when I ran basic C, I got compiler errors. If this was a .99 app, it would be a little better, but since it was so much more expensive, Im a little peeved. Do not waste your time with this app.

Great app Highly Reccomended

I can finally write and compile my favorite favorite programming languages! Definitely worth $2.99 Also there are SO many languages.
